Organization Background

Aeon is a nonprofit developer, owner and manager of high-quality affordable homes in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. Position Summary

The Digital Intern plays an important role in the implementation of the Aeon’s integrated marketing communications strategy as part of the Advancement Team, which is responsible for driving revenue for the organization. Under supervision of the Marketing and Communications Manager, the Digital Intern uses design, photography and videography to promote and enhance Aeon’s brand and drive broader awareness and support for the organization.


Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


  • Graphic design.
    Use Adobe Creative Suite to design and edit advertisements, fliers, mailers, posters, and more for the organization’s awareness-building, fundraising, staff recruitment, property-based and housing development initiatives and activities.

  • Photography and videography.
    Using Aeon’s DSLR camera, Photoshop and Adobe Premiere Pro, capture and edit compelling photos and videos.

  • Web:
    Support the Marketing and Communications Coordinator with gathering content for Aeon website, blog and social media channels and designing and distributing emails to Aeon’s audiences.


Skills/Qualifications

Strong design skills and strong proficiency with Adobe InDesign and Illustrator required. Strong photography and videography skills required. Proficiency with Photoshop and Adobe Premiere Pro preferred. Experience with WordPress, MailChimp, basic HTML and CSS is a plus.

An interest in nonprofit marketing, communications and fundraising. Familiarity with AP Style Guide is preferred. Understanding of changing technologies, and ability to successfully utilize digital and other channels. Results-driven style, strong attention to detail and personal accountability. Ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds, demonstrating sensitivity to the needs and experiences of a diverse staff and constituent base.


Compensation

This is a temporary, part-time (30 hours per week) intern position that pays $15/hour.

This position will be based at Aeon’s central office in Minneapolis. Schedule is flexible, but work must be completed during Aeon’s office hours (8:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday). Aeon is seeking a candidate who can fill this role from early June through the end of August 2018.
