DevOps Engineer – Cloud

Role Summary/ Purpose:

The Cloud Architect will be a highly technical member of a small team reporting to the Chief Software Engineer, responsible for cloud adoption, migrations, and technologies. The successful candidate should have a broad and varied interest in cloud-related technologies with a passion for automation and continuous learning and improvement.

Essential Responsibilities:

• This role will partner closely with Cloud team members and stakeholders that include GEA infrastructure teams, functional IT teams, product management/engineering and the open source community to help deliver solutions aimed at cutting edge innovation. In this role, the Cloud Architect will:
• Help influence and execute Linux cloud automation strategy for enterprise applications and application components
• Develop re-usable components and operational strategies in the cloud to support scalability, high availability, performance, monitoring, backup, restore, etc.
• Take an automation first approach to streamline business processes
• Help deploy, support, and maintain cloud based software like Mesosphere, Docker and Puppet
• Develop and maintain support and system documentation
• Assist with incident response, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem resolution for solutions deployed
• Work within an automated DevOps delivery/deployment model
• Perform software upgrades and installations as required in support of cloud strategy and business priorities
• Work on a high velocity team that is expected to deliver solutions in a few weeks – from concept to delivery
• Explore and embrace new technologies
• Be open to mentorship from more experienced team members.
