Developer-IT

Delta Air Lines is seeking a Developer to work on the development, maintenance, enhancement, and support of applications to support Delta’s Technical Operations Center. This position will be specifically working with the IT Tech Ops Shop team.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES IN THIS ROLE

Primary responsibility include designing, developing and implementing Cobol/CICS, Java, Java scripts, JIS (Jacada Integrated Services) webMethods, SQL Database with DB2 or similar, and use of hyperlinks from webpages.

Develop appropriate software and documentation according to Delta standards.

Support and troubleshoot computer systems as required, optimizing performance, resolving problems, and providing timely follow up on all problems.

Follow Delta standards and methodologies in the development and implementation of computer software.

Participate in the development effort resulting in well structured, easily maintained program code.

Prepare and review estimates for tasks and/or projects.

Prepare and execute unit, system and integration test scripts.

*May perform other duties as assigned.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR? / WHAT EXPERIENCE DO YOU NEED?

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Systems or any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training in the computer systems development field. Previous airline experience ideal.

Ability to work within a team environment.

Experience building computer software within the Airline business a plus.

Works on a limited number of a projects at a time as a member of a project team

Works on smaller, less complex projects that require mentoring or direction from project lead

BS/BA, preferably in a technical or scientific field or equivalent experience, education, or training

5+ years of experience in application design, development, installation, and modification

Highly motivated, inquisitive, collaborative, creative, proactive, and good communicator are non-technical skills that will fit best in our environment.

Understands how to transform business and functional requirements into technical solutions.
