Desktop Support Specialist

to support in our Corporate HQ to assist employees with Windows computer hardware and software. Must be proficient in the administration of client machines including the OS, Office365, Outlook, Skype, OneDrive, and Office Suite. The responsibilities of the Desktop Support Specialist will include provisioning, installing/configuring, and maintaining computer hardware, software and related infrastructure. This individual participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation. This role will ensure that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values, policies and procedures.

Technical Responsibilities (to include but not limited to):
Troubleshoot and resolve help desk tickets in a timely manner; provide management with weekly reports; document IT procedures and technical knowledge articles for staff.

Assist in the management of Active Directory and components such as File shares, DHCP, DNS, Group Policy Management and Windows Updates.

Working understanding of Network components.

Cyber security experience including network, endpoint, server and application.

Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, review system and application logs, and verify completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.

Identify and analyze new technologies/systems to develop recommendations for Boecore Management.

Install or configure existing servers, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements

Monitor and Manage System backups.

Assist in the development and management of VMWare Virtual Server Environment.

Track workstation/server asset inventory and develop replacement recommendations.

Procure and install software based on requests and in accordance with proper licensing procedures.

Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures.

Contribute to and maintain system standards.

Printer management.

SQL database, SharePoint Online, Web Development, Desktop Publishing skills.

Write and Maintain KBA (Knowledge Based Articles).

Maintain current in technology and trends in software/hardware.

Provide off-hours support as needed for high priority incidents.

Participate in facility technology improvements including space planning, networking, security, safety, storage.

Complex problem solving skills.

Ability to multi-task and work in a dynamic environment.

Recent desktop support experience deploying software, providing remote support, and providing network support across laptops, desktops and mobile devices.

Familiar with Cloud application support.

Microsoft and VMWare Certifications.

Knowledge of VTC technologies.

Knowledge of Desktop Deployment Tools.

Understanding of VOiP Phone Systems.

Ability to analyze new technologies and systems then develop recommendations for selection criteria.

Ability to communicate well with customers requiring IT support.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Required Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.

3 – 5 years Desktop Support.

2 – 3 years Server Administration.

Recent experience in Windows 8, 10, Server 2008, 2012, Office365, Skype for Business, and SharePoint. Recent Virtualization experience in VMWare.

Ability to work with a diverse team.

Ability to work with little to no supervision on technical tasks.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance if required.

Minimum: Must be a US citizen.
