Designer

Position Summary: Develops concepts into drawings and plans per customer specifications.

Essential Functions:

• Gathers data to evaluate project needs for customer by performing field visits, accurately measuring equipment, and sketching or designing project.
• Prepares drawings for customer approval and fabrication using Autodesk software/Solid Works, such as Autocad and other design CAD systems.
• Selects and prepares appropriate materials that fit the design scope and function using the Internet and catalogs.
• Prepares bill of materials.
• Purchases specialized materials and components to complete projects.
• Communicates by phone or in person with company employees, customers, and vendors to complete project.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• High school diploma in addition to a two-year trade/technical school program in computer design or minimum of five years experience in design.
• Personal computer skills to include MS Word, MS Outlook, and MS Excel programs.
• Autocad computer experience.
• Ability to work independently.
• Must be detail oriented.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $41,600.00 to $45,760.00 /year
