Designer

Job Overview:

This Designer contributes design ideas for the website and print collateral to further develop the design aesthetic for the Macy’s brand. This person will support the Design team and collaborate with copywriters, marketing team and merchants while delivering high quality work consistently and on time. This person must be able to take on more when asked and be solution driven and schedule oriented.

Essential Functions:

• Concepts, designs and produces high quality creative and promotional work for the website and print collateral.

• Works closely with the Art Manager and supports the team by working on:

• print ads and layouts
• new concepts for print and online
• finding swipe
• producing emails and online ads

• S wipe and producing emails and online ads

• Be able to manage and create projects from start to finish

• Manages a large workload and demonstrates strong organizational, planning and prioritizing skills to meet quick deadlines

• A go-to team player that is proactive and has good follow through with excellent communication skills

• Supports the Art Manager by attending meetings and picking up additional workload in their absence

• Strong knowledge of type treatment and layout design

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

• Retail experience preferred

• 5+ years experience in a design related job

Communication Skills:

• Excellent communication skills

Other Skills:

• Strong organizational, planning and prioritizing skills

• Proficient computer skills in Adobe In-design, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Bridge as well as Microsoft Word
