DEPARTMENT: Riverfront Design Center

STATEMENT OF THE JOB: This position is responsible for designing and paginating print pages for daily and weekly newspapers.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Proven design experience
• Interest in news and community publishing
• Able to apply creative thinking and exceptional problem solving skills.
• The ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.
• A positive attitude and professional demeanor.
• Flexibility to work in a rapidly changing environment.
• Adobe CS3 or greater (Adobe InDesign, Photoshop)

WORKING CONDITIONS: Works in an environment dominated with computers and under daily deadline pressure with a variety of duties and functions to perform. The majority of the work shift (usually 8 hours, but up to 12 hours or longer, depending on large projects or community and news events) will be spent using computer, keyboard, and computer mouse to produce online content using a variety of software programs.

SECOND SHIFT WORK: MUST BE ABLE TO WORK NIGHTS AND WEEKENDS
