Design Internship

The TEGNA Design Tank is looking for talented college students majoring in motion graphic design to participate in our paid internship program. The Tank is a centralized graphics unit that designs motion graphics for more than forty television stations across the country.

This internship allows students to develop and apply skills in various design theories and help support the team of talented professional designers. This program offers mentoring from those at the top of the field in broadcast design and motion graphics, and offers an opportunity to work in a fun, creative, and collaborative environment.

Design Internship:

Interns will learn the inner workings of our design department and work closely with the design director and production manager, as well as employees from the stations. Areas of development include, but are not limited to logo design, layout, informational graphics, story telling, branding graphics, animation, client services and management of multiple simultaneous projects. Interns will learn from the appropriate person in each of these areas. In addition, they will assist the staff with miscellaneous tasks as needed. Students emphasizing in graphic design, motion and animation will excel in this environment. Computer skills are essential, and strong spelling and grammar are a necessity.

**Student must be open to working a flexible schedule.

Job Requirements
Requirements:

• Must be pursuing an Associate or Bachelor’s degree with a GPA of at least 3.0
• Must be well organized, detail oriented, adaptable and flexible
• Must possess excellent communication skills
• Strong skills in Adobe products (Photoshop, Illustrator), After Effects preferred
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends and holidays
