Demand & Supply Chain Planning Analyst

Reporting to the Manager, Demand & Supply Chain Planning the Analyst, Demand & Supply Chain Planning is responsible for developing and implementing the Consumer Business’ forecasting, demand planning and supply chain management strategies to achieve desired operational, financial and customer service objectives. In addition, ensure ongoing continuous improvement of the sales & operations planning process and optimization of the supply chain in support of company growth and productivity objectives.

This position is responsible for supporting the process to obtain sales demand inputs to generate the best possible forecasts and convert them into comprehensive demand plans for each product line that in turn is input to a single production & supply plan. This position is accountable for managing these processes to obtain input from business strategies, sales plans, product & channel management, marketing and statistical models to generate the best possible forecasts and convert them into comprehensive 18 month demand plans to be used to develop the production & financial plans that will action the supply chain. The demand plan must be consensus in nature and consider the entire planning horizon including product introductions and discontinuances, promotion plans, healthy inventory targets, and reductions in excess & obsolete inventory.

Demand and Supply Chain Analyst Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline, Master’s preferred.
  • Minimum of 0-2 years of experience in supply chain planning or comparable analytical role, preferably within the consumer products or durable goods industries.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, ERP (SAP, Oracle, etc.), Business Intelligence or Data Warehouse Tools, Demand Planning or Statistical Forecasting tools are a must.
  • Must have strong analytical skills.
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational and problem solving skills
  • Ability to resolve conflict and manage multiple priorities
  • Proficient financial skills and knowledge, including ability to optimize resources to create profitability

Demand and Supply Chain Analyst Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for delivering the total demand plan through each monthly S&OP cycle for the rolling 18 month planning horizon and submits forecast to feed the Production & Supply Planning process.
  • Balances a complex set of input and causal variables to reduce forecast error.
  • Manage and improve the collaborative forecasting process, working across the organization to create accurate and timely forecasts.
  • Ensure the ongoing accuracy of item-level forecasts, including effectively managing seasonality, cyclicality, promotions, launches and product discontinuation.
  • Create SKU and Customer level forecasts including statistical forecasts using established policies, best practices, standard processes & tools.
  • Organize, prepare, communicate and facilitate all aspects of the monthly S&OP process.
  • Establish and institute best-in-class analytics, metrics, and reporting.
  • Coordinates cross functional resolution of day-to-day issues related to supply issues or significant short-term fluctuations in customer or market demand.
  • Champion the full utilization of the SAP and related application systems.
  • Actively support in developing, documenting and implementing the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) etc. on a continual basis.
  • Ensure all users within the Demand Planning Department have received required and sufficient training and that they have access to SAP and related application systems.
