Job Description

We are Noventis and we are currently seeking a talented, energetic, and self-motivated addition to the team looking to utilize and extend their software development skills in a growing environment.

Here you will work with other engineers and implementation teams to build, test, and deliver the products, enhancements, and technologies that drive Noventis. You will analyze, design, develop and test new and existing applications to meet the market requirements. The right candidate will have strong communications skills, be a self starter, and hold a strong sense of ownership and commitment to your role on a team.

Here’s what you will do:

  • Collaborate with other engineers and architects to design new and modify existing components of Noventis applications
  • Design and build Oracle objects such as packages, tables, procedures, views, materialized views, triggers, and deployment scripts for high-performance transactional, reporting, and batch applications
  • Ensure designs are faithful to requirements and the final results are faithful to designs
  • Establish and maintain a holistic awareness of the Noventis database environment
  • Coordinate with other engineers to evolve, employ, and enforce Noventis architecture standards and guidelines
  • Perform functional analysis and provide work estimates for proposed changes
  • Writing clear technical design specifications
  • Learn and apply new strategies and industry practices as they relate to database and application design
  • Build and maintain favorable working relationships with other Noventis staff*

Here’s what you should bring:

  • 5+ years software development experience along with Oracle database, SQL and PL/SQL experience
  • Developing Oracle database objects – stored procedures, packages, functions, triggers, and leveraging built-in Oracle packages
  • Experience in a high volume, highly scalable transaction processing environment
  • Writing SQL optimized for performance
  • Able to actively participate in cross-functional teams formed to quickly resolve an issue or deliver a project
  • Ability to learn new technologies and business concepts quickly
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies is a plus
  • Familiarity or experience with the following technologies is a plus: Unix, Linux, JAVA, XML, and PERL
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Self-starter
