Database Developer, AVP (Bilingual Chinese/Mandarin)

Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified Database developer to design databases and applications according to the Bank’s needs. The candidate will work closely with our project manager and other developers to ensure all tasks in a standard System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) can be accomplished in time. Candidate will also collaborate with business users to provide technical support and identify new requirements. Good communication and organization skills are keys for this position, along with a positive problem-solution attitude.

Major Responsibilities:

• Develop, test, improve and maintain new and existing databases to help users with data extraction and reports.
• Conduct full lifecycle data analysis to include requirements, activities and design.
• Ensure all database programs meet company and performance requirements
• Create and enforce policies for effective data management
• Devise and implement efficient and secure procedures for data handling and analysis
• Monitor and analyze information and data systems and evaluate their performance to discover ways of enhancing them (new technologies, upgrades etc.)
• Troubleshoot data-related problems and authorize maintenance or modifications
• Ensure our database systems run effectively and securely on a daily basis.

Qualifications

• BSc degree in Computer Science or relevant field.
• At least 3 years of RDBMS database development experience

(MS SQL/MySQL/Oracle etc)

• Experience or expertise with data analysis and Business Intelligence (BI) reporting

in the banking industry strongly preferred.

• Good knowledge of reporting tools (Business Objects /Crystal / Cognos etc)
• Good knowledge of database-related software development under the ETL frameworks

(Export, Transform and Load) such as the MS SQL Server Integration and Reporting

Services (SSIS and SSRS).

• Good verbal and written communication skills both in English and Chinese
