Job Summary

Position applies advanced analytical techniques to produce data-driven business decisions related to performance improvement, cost reduction or market trends. Articulates a clear strategy and vision for the way Ensco solves complex business problems. Helps develop a broad understanding of statistics and data analysis throughout the organization.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Applies wide variety of statistical, algorithmic, mining and visualization techniques to provide trends and insights to senior management and other subject matter experts
Uses machine learning to conduct data analysis and produce data-driven predictions or decisions
Uses advanced statistical methods such as cluster analysis to establish patterns and relationships within data sets
Leverages historical data to identify improvement opportunities and propose solutions
Collaborates across organization to analyze stakeholder needs and identify areas of analytical focus either by department or cross-functional
Support development and implementation of data governance and management
Prepares data quality procedures and performs periodical data quality checks to ensure analytical results are accurate
Presents data analysis and recommendations to senior management
Develops analytical models and dashboard solutions
Troubleshoots and resolves technical system issues
Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

Experience

Minimum of 3 years in the application of advanced methods of data analysis to yield trends and insights to senior management or other stakeholders.

Education, Training, Licenses and/or Certifications

Required

Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics or other quantitative discipline required.

Understand programming languages such as Python, SQL, R, C++, Java, OSI-PI, or MatLab are a plus.

Preferred

Master’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or other quantitative discipline

OBIEE or Oracle Business Intelligence Cloud Service (BICS)

Certified Analytics Profession (CAP) is a plus

Knowledge of Offshore drilling operations is a plus

Minimum Requirements for this position

Advanced knowledge of big data, statistical modeling and machine learning
Ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams
Work effectively alone or as part of a team on projects

Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills
Ability to multi-task and establish priorities
Demonstrated ability to expertly prioritize, follow-up, and follow-through on multiple tasks
Committed to a high standard of safety and willing and able to comply with all safety laws and all of the employer’s safety policies and rules. Must be willing to report safety violations and potential safety violations to appropriate supervisory or management personnel
Excellent conflict resolution skills and be able to diplomatically handle confrontation
Professional appearance and attitude
Maintain confidentiality
Exercise sound judgments and make decisions in a manner consistent with the essential job functions
Maintain flexible attitude and approach towards assignments and successfully operate under ambiguous guidelines
PC proficiency and working knowledge of current Microsoft Office software suite required
Perform duties onsite
