Data Entry Clerk

As an Order Entry Specialist, you will be responsible for receiving and processing incoming orders in a fast-paced manufacturing/production environment. Your primarily responsibilities will be the timely and accurate entry of all customer orders and associated follow up, as well as assisting the department and Customer Service Supervisor with related projects and activities. In this position it is important to support company data quality, accuracy and security standards, follow established procedures and have a work history of accurate and efficient data entry skills. This position reports to the Supervisor of Customer Service.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Enter customer orders into the SAP ERP system
  • Monitor, review and manage open orders from order entry to shipment and billing
  • Purchase Order Validation:
  • o Review customer account information
    o Confirm shipping conditions
    o Confirm pricing and discount concessions
    o Review line item details including correct UOM, part number, quantity and description

  • Complete all orders before daily cut-off time
  • Helps to coordinate activities which require special handling to ensure delivery commitments are met, communicates order status, and related items as required.
  • Communicate with internal partner’s within, Planning, Accounting, and Shipping Departments to ensure orders are processed in a timely manner.
  • Allocate inventory backorders when inventory is released.
  • Research and resolve issues and reconcile as required
  • Maintain SFDC email case closure rates to support internal metrics and goals
  • Maintain strong working relationships and communications with internal groups: customer care, project management, operations and shipping
  • Skill/Job Requirements

  • Associate degree preferred
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in order management, customer service, operations
  • Read and interpret terms and conditions, written guidelines, directions, and correspondence
  • Ability to work independently with general direction
  • Excellent written communication and verbal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with Analytical skills to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment with tight deadlines and multiple deliverables
  • Commitment to continuous improvement
  • Experience with automated ordering systems preferred
  • Knowledge of Salesforce strongly preferred
  • Job Types: Full-time, Contract

    Pay: $19.00 – $20.00 per hour
