Data Center Technician

Under the general direction of the Data Center Manager, the Data Center Technician will physically support and provide remote hand data center services for customers as well as facilitate customer access.

• Support day-to-day operations of the data center.
• Consult, move, and install shelves, power strips, rails, cable management, servers, switches, and other equipment to drive and follow requirements.
• Provide, quality checks and close remote hands for customers with limited direction.
• Determine and evolve inspection plans and visually inspect equipment for errors or unusual noises.
• Review work orders and as post-work quality assurance to ensure requests are handled accordingly to requests.
• Troubleshoot physical problems and address issues.
• Consult with senior peers on complex projects.
• Consult and conduct inventory control

Role Requirements:

• High School diploma or GED required
• Background investigation and drug screen required
• 3 or more years of experience in a hands-on data center technician role required
• Knowledge of Windows XP, 7, 8.1 and 10 operating systems, Microsoft Office software required
• Proficient with PC hardware repair and can troubleshoot/resolve software and operating system issues.
• Must have working knowledge of basic networking hardware skills in local area networks and wide area networks
• A+, Network+, Lenovo, Dell and HP certifications a plus
• Mac/iOS product knowledge is a plus
• Excellent communication and customer service skills required.
• Must be available for after-hours on-call rotation
• Healthcare experience a plus
