The engineer will provide technical expertise to implement complex solutions through project deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

Provides Professional Services (PS) to support the delivery of data center projects.

Adheres to the Presidio Plan, Design, Implement, Test, and Document methodology.

Possesses a deep technical skill set in at least one data center technology.

Develops deep technical skill set in several data center technologies surrounding already existing technology area.

Provides timely updates to the project manager and customer when requested.

Implements solutions based on best practices.

Executes the assigned competency development plan.

Provides recommendations to the Practice Manager on new tools for the team.

Engages in continuous learning to stay abreast on new and emerging storage and data center technologies. This includes obtaining vendor-related certifications, to enhance professional development and our corporate standing with our vendors.

Required Skills

Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience and/or military experience

Experience with delivery, installation, maintenance and assessment in at least one data center product set.

Proficiency in the English language and reading comprehension.

Basic knowledge of DC related software/hardware installation, configuration and testing practices.

Knowledge of compute, network, storage and virtualization theory, design and architecture.

Knowledge and demonstrated operating experience (5+ years) in two or more of the following areas of specialization:

Microsoft Services: Active Directory

Microsoft Applications: Exchange, SharePoint, SQL

Compute: Cisco UCS, HP BladeSystem or rack mount servers

Storage Arrays: EMC, NetApp, HP or other

Storage Area Networking: FC, iSCSI, FCoE

Virtualization Infrastructure: VMware vSphere, Citrix Xenserver, Microsoft Hyper-V

Servers Operating Systems: Microsoft, Unix, Linux

System Management Software

Integrated Compute Stack Management and Orchestration Software

Excellent customer service and troubleshooting skills with a strong service orientation focus.

Effective interpersonal and active listening skills.

Operative active learning skills to understand the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making.

Strong time management to effectively and efficiently manage one’s own time.

Ability to solve problems using inductive and deductive reasoning.

Strong critical thinking, complex problem solving, appropriate judgment, and decision making skills.

Ability to sense and forecast problem areas.

Excellent oral and written communication and expression skills, to include effective presentation skills.

Ability to be conversant about company, solutions and product strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats.

Ability to apply solutions, technology and products to a business opportunity.

Ability to demonstrate technical knowledge and consultative skills.

Competencies Required: Physical Requirements

May involve extensive periods of standing, walking, bending, sitting, use of electronic tools and equipment, and lifting small to large boxes and electronic equipment.
