Data Architect III

As a member of the Data Management team, the Data Architect III designs, develops, and deploys Enterprise Data Warehousing (EDW) solutions.

In addition, the Data Architect analyzes data, performs Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) source to target mapping operations, develops data models, interacts with staff provides guidance, mentors, trains and participates in on-call rotations facilitating off-hour work functions in support of incidents, upgrades, patches, and project task fulfillment.

  • Designs, develops, and deploys Enterprise Data Warehousing (EDW) solutions, database tables, views, stored procedures, data marts that store data from various source systems and ties those together. EDW architectural assessment, product roadmap, hardware/software acquisition justification.
  • Develops reusable data source queries and that meet project requirements and organizational design standards.
  • Implements data models that follow a Late-Binding design methodology and Data Warehousing best practices. Models data from source systems and design ETL to bring data into the Data Warehouse.
  • Creates Metrics, Patient Registries and Predictive Models to be applied to the Data Warehouse data per clinical and business rules.
  • Oversees processes to ensure data accuracy within the data warehouse environments.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Finance, a licensed Clinical discipline, a related discipline or four (4) years equivalent experience.
  • Six (6) years of experience in Healthcare, IT or Financial sectors
  • Five (5) years data modeling, report development or data warehouse design.
  • Five (5) years’ experience in ETL package development using SSIS.

SKILLS

Technical:

  • Proficient in Structured Query Language (SQL).
  • Proficient in applying Data Warehouse Concepts (Data Modeling, Master Data Management, & Data Stewardship), Data Warehouse Designs (Star-schema, Dimensional Models, & Data Marts) to solve data integration, data management problems.
  • Proficient in MS SQL query development, shell scripting, data integration development using MS SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
  • Experience with integrating XML, EDI and XLS data formats.
  • Knowledge of reporting tools (BusinessObjects, McKesson Explorer, Tableau).
  • Experience creating database objects (views, functions, & stored procedures).
  • Ability to design and maintain metrics & data models based on complex business & clinical rules
  • Must how a strong curiosity and self-motivation to understand business and clinical and perform root cause analysis of issues. Understanding of Lean, Six Sigma & continuous improvement practices.
  • Excellent creative thinking & critical problem solving skills.

Communication:

  • Effective written & verbal communication skills, strong customer service skills, consistently & effectively address client needs, collaborate with customers & set expectations.
  • Contribute to technical discussions & present data models for validation.
