**Data Analytics Intern – Customer Services Department**

Colorado Spring Utilities is seeking an intern pursuing statistics, data science or an engineering (mechanical or industrial) degree for the Customer Services Department. You will provide departmental support by working with large commercial customer data by creating reports, analyzing trends, and performing energy and/or water consumption audits for usage enhancement recommendations. You will also support some big data mining efforts to support market segmentation programs to enhance the customer experience.

**This is a long term intern opportunity that may continue for up to 24 months.**

+ Entering data with a strong understanding of Excel functionality, especially charts, V-lookup, formula auditing, and regression procedures

+ Basic data trending and forecasting techniques, generating reports, spreadsheet communication etiquette and data organization skills needed

+ Basic math and statistics principles

+ Data Quality Assurance Procedures

+ Critical thinking, professional demeanor, attention to details with focus on quality and accuracy is a must

+ Having an aptitude or interest in energy/electric terms, fluids, and heat transfer is a plus

**What will it take to be successful?** You must be enrolled full time in an undergraduate or graduate program in data science, engineering or related field and be enrolled in school after the internship ends. Preferred candidates will have completed at least a freshman in academic standing. You must have at least a 2.5 GPA to be considered (you will be required to provide a copy of your recent transcript including GPA and credit hours if selected).
