Data Analyst

IBM’s Chief Data Office (CDO) is hiring a Data Analyst to work within the newly created Knowledge Management group with a focus on cognitive and machine learned metadata solutions. Our Data Analyst will help the CDO’s Knowledge Management group to drive semantic alignment across internal and external domains, ontology, and knowledge bases, and help IBM to build its enterprise knowledge graph using a mix of IBM technologies and open source technologies. As part of their daily activities, the Data Analyst will work closely with business subject matter experts and provide support daily support to senior team members. As part of this role, the Data Analyst will work with business stake holders related to ontology / graph integration and use-case development. Responsibilities will be both strategic and tactical and will evolve with IBM’s Cognition-as-a-Service capabilities.
1-3 years of experience:
• Software development experience in multiple languages (Python / Java Preferred) using tools such as: git, Maven, Jenkins, JIRA
• MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point
• Data modeling experience for RDBMS
• Data structures such as: JSON, XML, RDF
• Understanding of core concepts in Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Natural Language Understanding (NLU)
• Cloud computing experience: Platform-as-a-Service, Infrastructure-as-a-Service, Data-as-a-Service
• Understanding of applied mathematical and statistical techniques such as: hypothesis testing, ROC, Texas ratio, and regressions (multi-variable, logistic, probabilistic), SVM, etc.
• Experience manipulating data sets using statistical software such as: R, Matlab, SAS, Fortran, Numpy
• Basic understanding of Big Data ecosystem and enterprise data architectures
