Data Analyst

We are actively seeking a Data Analyst for analyzing Customer, Configuration, CRM and Web data in our customer facing systems such as Web, Mobile Web, In-Store Digital as well as internal systems such as CRM, ERP and Service applications. You will work with Product Managers, Architects, and Engineers to understand the Operations that support Vehicle reservation, order booking and vehicle delivery with the Digital Products team in Fremont, CA. Tesla internal applications are undergoing a challenging architecture transformation and migrating to a Micro services-based messaging architecture makes this role interesting. The mission of this role is to understand our data assets and support operational analytics needs and improve data privacy and reporting.

Responsibilities:

• Work with Engineering, Product Management and Business teams to understand corporate data requirements (financial, engineering, management), data models, and apply data analysis and quality assurance techniques to establish, modify and maintain persistent data systems and their associated components in and across business areas/applications of expertise
• Partner with Engineering and Product Management teams to gather reporting and visualization requirements to create reports/dashboards and simplify operational user interaction with systems.
• Define data models and process mapping that capture and communicate business processes and how they interact with different Rest API’s and databases.
• Work with data analysts and the Product Security team to identify requirements of various privacy laws such as GDPR/ China Cyber security etc. and implement appropriate controls in partnership with different Engineering and Security teams in Tesla.
• Define and implement organizational protocols to manage the authorization and accounting of all data collection and access

Requirements:

• 3-5+ years of experience working as a Data Analyst at a company with Global operations
• Expertise in using Analytics Reporting and Visualization tools: Tableau, PowerBI, QlikView
• Proficient in writing SQL queries and fetching information from MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle or MongoDB databases
• Database Modeling knowledge and documentation using modeling tools such as Erwin, Visio etc.
• Business Intelligence reporting requirements gathering and implementing Operational and Executive reports and dashboards
• Exposed to Database Analytical Functions, In-line Queries, Sub-Queries, Aggregate functions
• Working Knowledge of ETL or modeling concepts such as Dimensional modeling or Data warehouse & Data marts.
• Experience working with data subject to regulations such as PCI/PII.
• Agile/SCRUM Software Development Process experience is a plus.
• Experience with Rest API environments and micro services-based architectures is a plus
• Detailed understanding of the General Data Protection Regulation is a plus
