Customer Service Representative/Call Center

50/50 Pay is an online retail consumer finance startup that provides credit to customers of Gage Diamonds, a premier jewelry store located in Chicago’s vibrant River North District.

50/50 Pay is looking for a customer service representative that can communicate with our customers using various channels (inbound / outbound calls, emails, online chat) to assist them with their loans and loan applications. In addition, the customer service representative will be responsible for verifying customer information and extending credit based on our underwriting criteria.

Being a recent startup, 50/50 Pay provides the unique opportunity to be an early employee in a growing company. We are looking for a candidate that can eventually become an integral part of our company. New college grads welcome!

Full-time

10am to 6pm Wed-Sat

$16.00/hour plus up to $20.00 per loan origination

Daily responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Handling high call volume (inbound/outbound) and communicating directly with customers, either by telephone and/or electronic methods
  • Enhance customer experience with a high level of customer service
  • Utilizing different computer programs simultaneously to obtain, verify, and accurately enter customer information (home address, employment verification, bankruptcy history, etc.) in order to process loans
  • Extend credit to customers based on credit worthiness
  • Process payments and payoffs
  • Respond and follow up to all customer inquiries and pending items in a timely manner and resolve questions and issues
  • Ensure that all work is in compliance with Federal and State law and company’s policies and procedures

Requirements

  • Excellent communication, customer service and sales skills
  • Recent banking, loan officer, or consumer finance experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively, prioritize tasks, organize, negotiate and make important decisions
  • Strong working knowledge of relevant computer software, including Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work within more than one computer program simultaneously
  • Must possess thorough knowledge of basic math in order to handle and compute financial transactions
  • Must be a team player with a strong work ethic and outgoing positive attitude
  • Work well in fast paced environment
  • Must possess the ability to use discretion in the controlling of confidential information

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $16.00 to $18.00 /hour
