Customer Service Representative

Are you a person who excels in providing exceptional customer service to individuals over-the-phone and you enjoy working in a fast-paced call center environment? Then this job is for you. The Division of Motor Vehicles/Motor Vehicle Call Center is currently looking for a skilled and motivated individual person to fill its Customer Service Representative position. You must be current on your state and federal tax filings and pass a criminal background check.

Principle Duties

The Motor Vehicle Call Center is looking for a Customer Service Representative to assist customers over the telephone with questions they may have. This person will assist the customers:

Over the telephone by

Explaining rules and regulations in regards to the Motor Vehicle Division

Following policy and procedures in regards to the Motor Vehicle Division

Fees for all motor vehicle processes

Using the Motor Vehicle system by

Retrieving customer information from data base

Processing address changes

Canceling vehicle registrations, etc. The Ideal Candidate

The Agency

The Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is a division of the Utah State Tax Commission . The primary duty of the DMV is to issue title and registration for Utah vehicles, including passenger vehicles, trucks, trailers, motorcycles, motor homes, off-highway vehicles, boats, and snowmobiles. Starting wage is $11.98

Example of Duties:
In a call center environment receives, researches and responds to incoming questions or complaints; provides information, explains policy and procedures, and/or facilitates a resolution.

Accesses data bases to obtain various kinds of information.

Searches, retrieves and/or researches public and private records in accordance with applicable state and federal laws governing access to these records.

Interprets, clarifies, explains and applies agency policy and procedures, business practices, federal or state laws and regulations, etc.

Assists the public and others to complete forms, applications and other paperwork.

Examine documents to verify applicability, legibility, completeness, accuracy, and/or consistency of information from one document to another, etc.

Enters data into a computer system and retrieves, corrects, or deletes previously entered data.

Prepare and/or process documents; review for accuracy and completeness; update information and/or evaluate against policy; compare elements for consistency or logical relationships, etc.

Receives and records payments; processes related paperwork.

Process titles, registrations, etc.

read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and/or procedures

refer inquiries to appropriate staff, agencies or organizations

process receipts and deposits

Working Conditions

Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated, e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc. Physical Requirements

Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying light items; driving an automobile, etc. Special physical demands are not required to perform the work. Other Requirements

You must be in compliance with tax filings and vehicle registration.

The Tax Commission requires a criminal background investigation on all employees.
