Customer Insights Analyst, Marketing Head Office

Bring the customer to life: support the drive to become a customer-led organisation by partnering with key business stakeholders to inform the overall retail strategy and to deliver customer insights, such that business decisions better reflect the prevailing consumer & market behaviours and deliver stronger more profitable customer relationships.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

A qualification in Business Science/Mathematics/Statistics or similar 4 years (hons) degree.

8 years analysis or consultancy experience in retail sector or relevant organization.

Experience in data mining and working with large databases.

Experience in a business environment.

Strong analytical skills and knowledge of analysing information and interpreting/translating into non-technical, commercial recommendations.

SAS or SQL proficient.

Advanced MS Excel and MS PowerPoint skills.

Knowledge of Database segmentation.

Business acumen: proven understanding of business environments and processes.

Ability to apply techniques in a practical way within a business environment.

Ability to turn data into actionable intelligence and insights.

Excellent communication skills: ability to interact effectively with colleagues at all levels of the organisation.

High attention to detail.

Strong planning and organisational skills.

Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.

Self-motivated.

Problem solving ability.

Process thinking ability

Conceptual ability.

Knowledge of data manipulation software: Insight, Choices.

Research supplier relationships and networks advantageous.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Strategy & Operational

Retail strategic planning process: provide robust, relevant and actionable customer insights using transactional data and market research resources.

Provide timeous strategic (customer insights, recommendations & opportunities) and operational customer reporting and interpretation to the Buying Groups:

Recommendations on customer acquisition, retention & growth

An agreed single view of our customers

A common language for use across the business to describe customers, segments, opportunities and measures

Represent the Woolworths customer to key stakeholders including senior leadership during the BU strategic planning processes

Partner with Market Research team to support planning, design, implementation of market research initiatives business-wide. Effectively gather and manage quantitative and qualitative market and customer data.

Constantly monitor the retail environment and Woolworths’ position in it, including store visits (Woolworths and competitors) to add depth of insight to customer behaviours.

Keep abreast of new technologies and suppliers seeking opportunity for continual improvement of Woolworths capabilities to enable better delivery of strategic insights based on business needs and gaps.

Innovation: develop methodologies to integrate streams of customer insights, distinguishing between research, feedback and social media.

Integrate with selling ops, digital and BI to identify synergies and opportunities with Mystery Shop, Customer Services and Social Media.
