Credit Analyst Trainee

POSITION PURPOSE:

Join IBC Bank’s growing Commercial Banking team in an entry-level position designed to develop candidates for advancement into senior roles within the financial institution. With the bank’s “We Do More” attitude, the incumbent will apply their unique skills in the Credit Training Program developing proficiencies in all aspects of credit administration and commercial loan underwriting. Working in our Tulsa headquarters, the Credit Training Program is a fast-paced learning environment in which the trainees are responsible for supporting the bank’s Commercial Lending team. Candidates that excel in the program are considered for advancement opportunities as Junior Lending Officers, Commercial Loan Underwriters, and Senior Loan Review Analysts, among other possibilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Credit Analysis, Loan Review, & Commercial Loan Underwriting (in accordance with bank policies & procedures)
  • Receive, organize & review all financial data and determine need for additional information
  • Using gathered financial data to compile spreadsheets and reports in bank’s format
  • Calculate cash flow, global cash flow, & key financial ratios
  • Analyze financial data, spreadsheets, and reports identifying credit strengths and weaknesses, potential risks to the bank and likeliness of repayment of debt
  • Prepare written narrative outlining the results of the financial analysis and calculations
  • Review and test loan covenants, when applicable
  • Assist in the preparation and review of loan documents
  • Maintain pipeline and status report spreadsheets as requested to manage workflow
  • Supports the Appraisal Department as assigned to prepare Real Estate Evaluations
  • Assist with communication to acquire financial information from borrowers
  • Attends and participates in Loan Committee meetings
  • General adherence to all policies, procedures, & practices in support of risk management; overall safety, soundness, & the bank’s compliance with all regulatory requirements, e.g. Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Equal Credit Opportunity Act, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Strong written, verbal communication skills; ability to maintain confidentiality of information, as appropriate
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (i.e. Word, Excel, etc.)

EDUCATION EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s Degree with a major in Finance, Accounting, or other business-related field
