Corporate FP&A Lead

Position Purpose & Summary

The Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis (Corp FP&A) group at Cargill has a lead opportunity focused on Corp FP&A priorities, providing support and insight for Cargill’s Executive Leadership. This lead position will be responsible for identifying and driving a wide range of initiatives within Corproate FP&A and BOSC, including comprehensive analysis of capital spending, analysis of functions and other corporate drivers, planning and forecasting, assessment of business performance, etc. This work culminates in leading analyses and publications for senior management, the board of directors and external audiences, and communicating opportunities and providing leadership of driving insights to action. All of these responsibilities contribute toward developing a broad perspective of Cargill and enhance financial theory and skills, and leadership development.

Principal Accountabilities

  • 50%: Provide expertise and leadership in identifying and executing various financial analysis projects for Corporate FP&A, leveraging technology to improve effectiveness and efficiency
    Develop insightful presentations, bringing new ideas and perspectives to facilitate decision-making
    Recommend and drive actions across the company basis insights identified
    Partner with the businesses and CFPA team to align corporate expectations with business analysis and insight, working together to drive change
    Support corporate-level financial decision making on topics such as capital structure, balance sheet management, margin and profit targets
    Review and analyze planning/forecasting for feasibility and understanding of key drivers
    Assess incoming capital projects for complete and thorough evaluation as well as a review for delivery on promise
    Complete corporate-level financial analysis, insight and decision making on consolidated expenses
    Analyzing the competitive landscape, market dynamics and industry trends both domestically and globally
  • 25%: Provide expertise and leadership for analysis and insights of BOSC (centrally led)
    Challenge all aspects of the global supply chain to identify and capture efficiencies and process improvement opportunities.
    Identify significant opportunities to reduce COGS and increase efficiency and to measure improvement/benefit in a consistent and meaningful way.
    Identify opportunities to evolve the organization’s reporting capabilities to better serve the business groups
    Provides central guidance of key issues, topics, external viewpoints/benchmarks and key areas for opportunity for the embedded FPA partners working with the embedded BOSC organization.
  • 25%: Lead special projects and analyses for executive management, Board of Directors and external audience

Qualifications


Required

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Finance or Accounting
  • 7 years experience
  • High business acumen with extensive financial knowledge
  • Ability to analyze and solve complex problems, presenting conclusions in insightful ways.
  • Excellent communication skills, ensuring complex ideas are communicated clearly and concisely. Effective across and up the organization.
  • Leadership and strong influencing skills
  • Proven experience in identifying key metrics, developing reports and analytical views in business intelligence tools
  • Outstanding analytical and quantitative skills with attention to detail
  • Collaborative team player with good interpersonal skills
  • Manage competing responsibilities and deadlines while maintaining adaptability

Preferred

  • Advanced degree (MBA)
  • Extensive experience conducting quantitative and qualitative financial analysis
  • Experience with Anaplan, or other budgeting/modelling tools
  • Extremely proficient with Excel, PowerPoint and visualization tools (PowerBi or Tableau)
