Job Summary: The Corporate Development Analyst provides support across the enterprise in mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and partnerships. This includes providing support and working cross functionally across the full cycle of a deal, including market intelligence, developing a pipeline of targets, financial analysis, valuation, due diligence, risk assessment, managing acquisition/divestiture processes and deal execution. The chosen candidate will be part of a dynamic, purpose-built team environment and will report to the Director of Corporate Development. This position is located at Milliken corporate headquarters in Spartanburg, South Carolina.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research and analyze current and adjacent markets, source and screen potential acquisition targets, perform financial analysis and modeling and coordinate due diligence
  • Support assessment of potential acquisitions and strategic investments; support the development and maintenance of the M&A team’s various valuation models
  • Collaborate with a variety of departments (business unit sales, marketing, manufacturing, accounting, finance, IS, human resources, R&D, etc.) to develop appropriate assumptions for the purposes of validating financial models.
  • Develop deep knowledge of our businesses’ market share, sales forecasts, objectives, competitive environment, cost estimates, supply chains, and other financial and marketing information and trends.
  • Support the M&A team in preparing presentations that develop and communicate the business case for various opportunities, both at the corporate and business unit level
  • Contribute to potential divestiture activities
  • Work cross functionally with various corporate functions, such as Legal, Accounting, and Tax, among others, to manage due diligence and overall transaction process

Qualifications and Required Work Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline (e.g. accounting, finance, economics, etc.) and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) preferred.
  • Must have 2+ years of transaction-related experience, preferably with an investment bank, private equity firm, or M&A advisory firm. Candidates with due diligence experience with a top accounting firm would also be considered.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including financial modeling, valuation and financial statement analysis
  • Demonstrated success and experience performing company and industry research
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with very strong excel/business modeling experience
  • Ability to travel
