Job Purpose

Drive new business acquisition from Wealth and Investment South Africa (WISA) by representing International Wealth and Investment (IWI) and Wealth International (WIN) in-country. Will do so by providing training and support to WISA, including Melville Douglas, for all IWI and WIN related matters.
Provide a readily available, service focused, knowledgeable and experienced point of contact for new and existing stakeholders.
Contribute towards the achievement of IWI and WISA’s offshore sales targets.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

 Accountable for the regular flow of new offshore business (in accordance with agreed designated area and offering) sourced from WISA and other distribution networks.
 Position IWI products and services as a value-add to WISA business and clients through regular engagements.
 Responsible for up-to-date marketing packs being readily available to WISA team.
 Assist in acquisition and retention of clients through quality service delivery, whilst extracting additional value from existing clients.
 Proactively follows up on leads to ensure achievement of offshore sales targets.
 Support WISA team with new account opening and BAF requirements.
 Support the Relationship Manager (RM) team in Jersey to maintain good workflows, timely account openings and prompt responses to queries from WISA.
 Execute on service and monitor the IWI offering in WISA.
 Build internal and external relationships. Engage and build relationships with Marketing, WISA, WIN and IWI.
 Provide relevant insights to WISA on industry matters i.t.o. the offering. Have a good understanding of competitors – monitor/ analyse etc.
 Attend various relevant business/team forums or meetings within the Wealth Business Units and IPB with the view of ensuring maximum support to WISA, IWI and WIN Business Units.
 Represent IWI and WIN in the relevant SA road shows and events.
 Develop solutions to pressing challenges or to identify opportunities.

  • Maintains a visible and active presence within WISA.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with both internal and external distribution network.
  • Positions IWI / WIN as first port of call to internal and external stakeholders for any offshore related questions.
  • Ensures that network contact and interaction is purposeful and professional by ensuring timeous and accurate feedback.
  • Collaboration with marketing ensure that marketing collateral is relevant and up to date delivery of material.

  • Identifies and minimises risks for the Bank by ensuring that all regulatory requirements are adhered to when selling products to clients
  • Minimise risk by ensuring that offshore products and service offerings are promoted and positioned in a manner that is understood and meets client’s needs.
  • Ensure that all documentation completed and signed by client meets the necessary regulatory requirements both locally and in the relevant offshore jurisdiction.
  • Act as facilitator between WISA and IWI/WIN BCU to ensure client risk grading’s are accurate and up-to-date, SoF is understood etc.
  • Responsible for maintaining the accurate designation of WISA RMs against IWI clients to ensure accurate MI.
  • Reports WISA and other distribution network changes to the IWI / WIN team timeously.
  • Adopting enhanced data protection and cyber security measures (handing of client information / data).
  • Integration of TCF principles especially at point of sale.

Preferred Qualification and Experience

Type of qualification: First Degree
Field of study: Finance and Accounting

Other qualifications, certifications or professional memberships Certified Financial Planning advantageous; Completion of Regulatory Examination and FAIS compliant – Mandatory requirement.
