Position Description:
With a strong focus on construction, support the development and execution of a broad range of natural gas and crude construction projects including high pressure transmission pipeline, compression, storage, gathering, treating, and processing.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Support Project Management in the development of the project schedule and identify any quality, cost control, safety and environmental objectives for the project.

Support Project Management during all project phases to ensure Company Construction Specifications/Standards are met.

Ensure the project inspection team is performing in accordance with Company Standards/Procedures and all project required documentation is being completed in an adequate and timely manner and that it is in compliance with Company, Federal, State and other governing bodies’ policies.

Support Project Management in the coordination and management of project inspection and construction personnel to ensure the work is performed to the highest standards of production, quality, cost control, safety, environmental stewardship.

Evaluate contractor performance during construction by monitoring progress and assisting Project Manager with enforcing terms of the negotiated contract.

Support projects in a manner that assures safety, reliability, environmental and human impacts are mitigated while meeting the project goals.

Deal with a wide variety of people with tact, courtesy and professionalism. Help ensure the inspection staff and contractor work together in an ethical and professional manner.

Prepare and deliver presentations that communicate project proposals, descriptions, company standards to contractors and inspection team.

Communicate the status of projects to various company personnel using written and verbal communications.

Speak clearly, both in person and by telephone, using a high level of verbal and listening skills.

Communicate with project manager, inspection team and contractors on goals and objectives.

Ensure ongoing improvement through evaluation of current standards and processes.

Maintain a high regard for personal safety, for the safety of company assets and employees, general public, inspectors and contractor employees.

Travel is required and anticipated as 70 percent across a broad geographic region.

Position Requirements

Pos ition Requirements:
Education:
High School Diploma

Associate degree from an accredited institution is a plus.

Preferred courses of study: construction, survey, NDE, mechanical, welding or metallurgy.

CWI, ASNT Level II or NACE Level I certifications is a plus.

Experience / Specific Knowledge:
10 years of specific experience in the construction of gas and crude handling facilities including tanks, pumps, compressors, pipelines, and measurement.

Basic understanding of economic analysis as it pertains to project justification

Possess general understanding of how corporate policies, procedures, practices and processes relate to the Gas Pipeline business segment, associated business units, and internal and external customers.

Required Competencies, skills and abilities:
Intermediate proficiency level in Microsoft Office applications, including but not limited to Adobe Pro, Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Project and other Office products.

Strong analytical skills and logical thought processes.

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including but not limited to the ability to present ideas, proposals and results to project management, operations, inspection and contractors.

Ability to organize and prioritize daily work, including tracking and supporting large and small size projects, and see projects to completion while maintaining strict confidentiality (as necessary).

Able to simultaneously manage multiple tasks and work with minimal direct supervision.

Experienced in supporting and working within a specific budget.

Solid leadership, communication, motivation, and interpersonal skills, and the ability to support projects that will include working with individuals with varying disciplines, backgrounds, and experience levels.

Must be able to work with a team, take direction from supervisor, prioritize work schedules, focus attention on details, and follow safety rules.

Ability to identify and establish expectations in an employee/employer relationship (subordinate/manager)

License:
Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers.

The successful candidate will be required to clear a drug screen and a complete background check, after an offer has been extended and prior to being employed.
