As a function of the Waupaca County Information Technology Department this position: plans, coordinates, installs, and administers the technology needs of Waupaca County to keep Waupaca County current and up-to-date in regards to the technology needs of the departments, users, clients, and the public. This position works under the direct supervision of the Information Technology Director. Supervisor Insight: The Computer Systems Administrator is an important position to the IT department and will work to ensure that various computer related systems are operating efficiently. A key component of this position is to be able to learn and then train end users on a variety of programs utilized by Waupaca County. The position will be operating mostly independently, but the position requires that a person is able to function in both a team and individual environment. This person will need to be able to prioritize projects and job duties and work with minimal supervision at times. Client support is a top priority so this person will need to be able to relay information effectively in all forms of communication. Duties of this position can include, but are not limited to; software and hardware upgrades, diagnosing issues within the computer systems, maintaining and monitoring the systems, as well as making recommendations to the IT director for areas where the systems can be improved.

Position Summary :
Coordinate and plan the installation, and upgrade of microcomputer hardware and software; including budget planning. Assist departments to evaluate, recommend and implement hardware configurations; including cost estimates for proposed microcomputers, hardware and software. Review and monitor microcomputer system components to ensure maximum performance. Investigate problems to determine general nature and area of responsibility; keep users informed as to problem status; track the problem through final resolution. Administrator of various Waupaca County computer systems.

Qualifications :
EDUCATION: Associate Degree in Network Administration, or an IT/CIS related hardware degree EXPERIENCE: Two years of current and progressively responsible related experience working in Information Technology with an emphasis on computer hardware. SPECIAL REQUIRMENT: Successful passing of a criminal justice information systems (CJIS) check.
