As the Computer Specialist , you will work on programming problems in connection with the application of electronic computers and their associated equipment to a variety of scientific systems and commercial projects. You will provide desktop administration of Windows 2003 / 2007 / Vista, Office 2003 / 2007 / 2010, including planning, installation, configuration, managing resources, connectivity, running applications, monitoring/optimization, troubleshooting, problem resolution, and notification escalation, acting as a task or proposal leader. Additionally, you will:

• Provide how-to documentation concerning the configuration, installation, use, and maintenance of desktop hardware and communications application software
• Provide both formal and informal training to users
• Provide video teleconferencing support as needed
• Provide Graphics Illustrator support and services
• Provide IT support for logging, troubleshooting, and resolution or problem escalation of calls to the IT helpdesk
• Perform installation, monitoring, and support of LAN/WAN system components
• Install and configure software for user access
• Perform over-the-shoulder system and application training and how-to documentation/training for IM support team members
• Implement and support the Defense Security Assistance Management System
• Provide remote access capabilities and perform property accountability
• Assist in developing marketing strategies to expand understanding and gain support of the program
• Coordinate with the Command Information Officer on the Command Information Plan
• Identify ways to improve the effects of information efforts and opportunities, and recommend courses of action
• Assist in the coordination and development of long- and short- range plans for information products, and recommend effective and efficient use of resources to respond to customer information requirements
• Coordinate information products for consistency focus as determined by the CG
• Develop, produce, and coordinate promotional material and products for worldwide dissemination
• Prepares news releases to promote and market the company
• Review and coordinate the content for the website
• Ensure that themes outlined by leadership are consistently portrayed in publications and on the web
• Deliver the content to the web administrator in support of directors for graphic enhancements, prior to submitting to the webmaster
• Maintain a digital/electronic source of all promotional products, programs, and concepts, and respond to information requests
• Provide briefing/slide development and preparation as needed
• Coordinate public affairs functions
• Provide bi-weekly electronically submitted reports to the COR outlining their activities during that time
• Perform troubleshooting and problem resolution of calls for IT support

What You’ll Need to be Successful:

• More than 8 years of experience, or 5 years of experience with a B.A. / B.S. in an associated discipline, or 2 years of experience with a M.S.
• Experience as a task leader or proposal manager
• Ability to be an innovative problem-solver
• Knowledge of third- and fourth-generation, state-of-the-art hardware and software systems
