Compensation Manager

If so, Mariner Finance has a great opportunity for you to join our team as a Compensation Manager in our corporate office in White Marsh, MD.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages the compensation function for the Company
  • Monitors the effectiveness of existing compensation policies, guidelines and procedures recommending plan revision as well as new plans that are cost-effective and consistent with compensation trends and corporate objectives.
  • Provides guidance to Senior Management on pay decisions, policy and guideline interpretation, and job evaluation.
  • Manages the administration of the Company’s compensation structure for exempt, nonexempt and variable incentive compensation programs.
  • Ensures the Company’s broad-based compensation programs are competitive, sustainable, and have an impact on the businesses short and long-term strategic goals.
  • Implements policies and procedures, and defines areas for compensation process improvements.
  • Works with the respective HR staff to plan and ensure the payroll process runs smoothly and efficiently without errors.
  • Manages job descriptions, FLSA compliance and compensation analysis.
  • Generates variable pay policies and programs based on business needs according to best practices.
  • Maintains employee confidence and protects operations by keeping personnel data confidential.
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable government regulations, laws and requirements.
  • Coordinates specific work tasks with other personnel within the department, as well as with other departments, in order to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of information.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Statistics, Business Management, Business Administration or related field required.
  • Three to five (3-5) years of experience with at least two (2) years of experience analyzing compensation for a medium to large organization.
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) is a plus.
  • Advanced Excel proficiency; Access experience is a plus.
  • Advanced experience with HRIS reporting functions required.
  • Experience working within ADP Workforce Now and compensation software preferred.
  • Previous experience developing total compensation plans is a plus.
  • Experience designing incentive and compensation plans required.
  • Robust knowledge of government regulations as they apply to compensation base and incentive compensation programs, company policies, and operations.
  • Strong communication skills with ability to present recommendations to senior leadership.
