Compensation Analyst POOl*4

This position conducts analysis on internal and external salary statistics. Develops recommends, and helps implement an employee compensation structure. This position structures and configures new pay grades, evaluates new positions, writes job descriptions, audits employee information and provides assistance to all levels regarding compensation. Compensation analyst helps develop employee incentive plans, and career progression steps to attract and retain talented employees.

Essential Duties:
Assists in the administration of base and variable pay programs.

Conducts job analysis, writes job descriptions, and evaluates jobs using market pricing methodology and reviews/analyzes positions for internal/external equity and FLSA compliance.

Researches and prepares reports and recommendations to be used for compensation decision making.

Provides ongoing compensation guidance to internal and external customers including communication, training, approvals and related documentation.

Inputs data for new hires, terminations, transfers, status changes, salary changes, merit changes, address changes and other information as needed.

Must process action items including offer letters and employment contracts for internal employees and external applicants in a timely manner and assures proper approvals.

Generates, maintains and distributes various reports on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis as required.

Provides equity based analyses and reports as required.

Assists in the development and maintenance of succession and retention programs as needed.

Other duties as assigned.

Job Specifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities Required):

Bachelor’s degree and two (2) to five (5) years of relevant experience required; Master’s degree up to two (2) years of relevant experience preferred.

Direct Compensation experience in writing job descriptions and benchmarking a plus.

Previous public education, non-profit sector, or union experience a plus.

PHR or CCP certified or working towards certification in the next 12 months.

Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.

Strong problem solving, decision-making, organizational and analytical skills.

Demonstrated ability to work with numbers and large volumes of data with accuracy and speed.

Advanced skills in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Duties are normally performed in an office environment.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
