Job Summary: The Purpose of this position is to help ensure employer compliance with Unemployment Insurance Tax. This position contacts those entities that failed to submit quarterly reports or tax payments. The collector enforces collections by lien and levy actions, installment payment agreements, phone calls, etc. The collector also recommends review for estimated assessments to satisfy delinquent reporting.

Knowledge of: Two years’ experience in collections. Knowledge of collection laws and procedures; knowledge of skip tracing and collection techniques.

Skill in: Written and oral communication techniques; computer skills. Utilize a wide variety of resources available for locating individuals. Problem solving skills.

Ability to: Ability to relate to employers under stress; effective listening skills; ability to perform rapid and accurate mathematical computations; ability to establish and maintain satisfactory relationships with other agency employees and the public.

Employees must participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS). Enrollment eligibility becomes effective after 27 weeks of employment. Newly hired employees are subject to the E-Verify Employment Eligibility Verification Program.
