NTT DATA Services currently seeks a COBOL Programmer to join our team in Albany , New York (US-NY) , United States (US) .

Daily Task will include but are not limited to the following:
Review and document existing Cobol and Fortran Mainframe programming to determine downstream data warehouse data extract requirements;

Develop, test and implement data extract programs to move data from Mainframe applications to Data warehouse environment;

Schedule ftp processes to transfer data to file servers

Test extracts for data quality and accuracy

Follow agency standards to ensure the accuracy and integrity of data and applications through analysis and coding as performed by the data extract processes;

Write clear data process and data modeling documentation and clear documentation of all associated tasks and documents.

Perform ongoing design, development, maintenance, and support of data extract processes;

Investigate and resolve data loading and/or data integrity issues

Mandatory Qualifications:
7+ years of experience in the usage and support of a collection of development platforms, technical architectures, or business applications and products that run on those platforms, beyond that of a Programmer; Candidate is able to provide leadership of large teams and/or extensive industry experience and is considered at the top of his/her field.

7+ years of demonstrated hands-on experience working with COBOL 74 and/or 85 programming on Unisys 2200 series or ClearPath mainframes.

Other Requested Qualifications:
5+ years of demonstrated hands-on experience in system analysis and design, programming and unit and integrated testing on Unisys 2200 series or Clear Path mainframes

5+ years of demonstrated hands-on experience utilizing Unisys ECL and DMS 2200/RDMS.

5+ years of demonstrated hands-on experience writing programs to generate data extract files from a COBOL and FORTRAM mainframe environment.

5+ years of demonstrated -on experience creating and maintaining documentation related to designing, programming, and testing data transfer processing from a mainframe to data ware house environment

5+ years of demonstrated hands-on experience with FORTRAN programming in a mainframe environment

5+ years of demonstrated hands-on experience reviewing, translating and extracting business ruleslogic in FORTRAN code in a mainframe environment

5+ years of demonstrated hands-on experience reviewing, translating and extracting business ruleslogic in COBOL code in a mainframe environment

3+ years of demonstrated hands-on experience scheduling ftp processes to transfer data from a COBOL mainframe environment

              • Position Overview :
                We are looking for an experienced COBOL Programmer who can take a large project and run with it, keeping the details in check while never losing sight of the big picture. Applicants should have experience working with large systems and understand all processes of the software development life cycle.

                Responsibilities :

                • Working with the end users who use the current system in place while planning for proposed additions/upgrades
