COBOL Developer

Job Description:
Designs a wide-range of application programs and routines from program specifications; codes, tests, debugs, documents, and installs applications and routines

Analyzes, programs, and modifies software enhancements and/or new products used in local, networked, or Internet-related computer programs

Analyzes end-user needs, establishing feasibility of solutions, and designing, monitoring and implementing systems, programs, and routines

Creates documentation and updates reflecting system processing

Uses current programming languages and technologies, writes code, completes programming, and performs testing and debugging of applications

Designs web pages, including graphics, animation, and functionality; develops infrastructure and applications related to pages

All other duties as assigned

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in information technology, healthcare, or related field.

Minimum five years related experience demonstrating familiarity with requirements gathering, system design, and the SLDC in complex mainframe technical environments.

Minimum two years year experience with functional areas of CA-MMIS and claims processing experience required.

Minimum two years year experience in CA-MMIS system operations and maintenance support required.

Technical familiarity and experience in mainframe, JCL, COBOL, JAVA, Forte, Business Object, SQL Server, Oracle, Informatica, WTX programming projects required.

Experience in healthcare domain and claims adjudication required.

Experience in the maintenance and modification of an MMIS required.

Possess working knowledge of Medicaid/Medicare regulations, standards, and processes.

Familiarity with SharePoint and ClearQuest is required.

Ability to communicate effectively through clear, concise written documentation, verbal presentations and interviews.
