Job Summary
The CNC Machinist is responsible for overseeing the operations of multiple cells/lines and is cross-trained in all tasks associated with machining an entire product or component of a product. The CNC Machinist produces parts by setting up, programming, and operating computer numerical control (CNC) machines while keeping records, adhering to quality standards, following safety procedures, and maintaining equipment.

Essential Job Functions
  • Operate computer numerical control (CNC) machines – Such as 3-Axis Routers, 5-Axis Routers and Press Brakes
  • Set up and program machines as necessary
  • Produce windshields and other plastic components
  • Expedite, troubleshoot and promptly resolve machine issues
  • Provide exceptional customer service by effectively communicating information with internal and external customers
  • Recommend and implement new strategies/process improvements for more efficient and/or cost-effective processes
  • Ensure production standards are met and reports any issues to production supervisor
  • Effectively collaborate with departments across organization to achieve daily goals
  • Promotes “safety first” mindset across production floor and ensures staff is following safety procedures/guidelines, including Lockout/Tag out
  • Maintain a positive work environment
  • Work within lean manufacturing guidelines
Minimum Requirements
  • Requires some trade school education (equivalent work experience may be considered)
  • Minimum of 4 years machining experience required, plastics preferred (associated degree may be considered)
  • Experience in leading small groups
  • Experience in vac forming a plus
  • Reliable, organized and motivated self-starter with strong problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong understanding of EPR Systems, Word & Excel
  • Ability to lift large sheets of plastic, tools and packing materials
  • Ability to perform job functions in various working conditions
  • Ability to fulfill essential duties and understand/follow directions using the English language
  • Ability to read blue prints and use measurement devices such as calipers and protractors
  • Ability to read and modify basic FANUC code
