Cloud Software Engineer

The HP Indigo Solutions team is focused on delivering a robust, highly scalable workflow system that seamlessly supports our Indigo family of presses and delivers an industry leading customer experience. There are significant technical opportunities to expand our workflow solutions in the cloud and in the shop, addressing current and new markets.

This position will be initially focused on the development of a workflow applications running in the cloud on top of the HP PrintOS architecture. Roles and responsibilities could be adjusted depending on the candidate’s strengths and team workload.

Responsibilities

  • Proficient software developer, capable of developing high quality, well-architected, well performing software to meet customer requirements.
  • Expand and enhance customer requirements into SW implementation.
  • Write and execute unit test, automated testing, and documentation for assigned functionality; identify and debug, and create solutions for issues within code.
  • Use agile processes and tools.
  • Collaborate with worldwide partners in R&D, QA, Marketing, and Support.
  • Support the roadmap of the software taking into account industry trends, business strategy as well as market evolution.
  • Drive innovation and integration of new SW technologies into projects.
  • Be a customer advocate. Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years relevant experience

Knowledge and Skills

  • High degree of Java expertise.
  • Experience in Amazon Web services (Kinesis …) is a plus.
  • Experience with Big Data management in the cloud is a plus.
  • Experience with cloud analytics is a plus.
  • Experience with automated unit/system test frameworks.
  • Demonstrated experience with web service architectures (servlet, tomcat, spring framework) is a plus.
  • Experience with database interaction technologies (like SQL, JDBC) and data access tuning is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate (verbally and written) product architectures, design proposals and options evaluated .
