Job Title: Civil Engineer

Location: Glasgow/Perth

Salary: £36,500 – £55,000 depending on skills and experience + car/cash allowance + annual bonus

Permanent | Full Time Hours

The Role

We are currently seeking a key role within the Engineering Centre’s Civil Team providing engineering input to a diverse new build project portfolio including onshore and offshore wind farms, hydro schemes, thermal generating plant and other emerging technologies.

You will also become involved in the assessment of existing assets across the fleet and provide technical support and guidance covering high consequence civil assets including tunnels, large diameter pipelines, damsreservoirs and onshore wind foundations.

Working closely with the operation teams, you will deliver value and contribute to the overall operational excellence of the business. This will require a practical approach with on site plant inspection, as well as a strong mind for thorough and detailed analysis of engineering issues with the communication of the results of the assessment to various stakeholders.

This will offer the successful candidate a fairly unique opportunity to become involved in the full life cycle from conception to decommissioning of large civil infrastructure. Although office based you will make frequent site visits and enjoy immense variety that few other company departments could offer due to our unique portfolio of civil assets.

Your Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role you will be educated to a minimum of degree level in Civil Engineering and have a comprehensive understanding of legislation, design and operational standards related to civil assets. Chartered or close to sitting your Chartership Professional Review is essential as is previous experience asset integrity, risk and performance of ageing structures.

You will display excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will possess an innovative mind set, have a flexible approach and have the capacity to deliver high quality work on a consistent basis in a demanding environment.
