CASE AIDE SPECIALIST

The Anoka County Community Social Services and Behavioral Health Department is seeking a Part Time (20 hours per week) Case Aide Specialist to provide financial intake services to persons requesting assistance for chemical dependency treatment costs. Under the direction of the Placement Support Unit Supervisor, this position would process applications for financial assistance specific to Rule 25 (chemical dependency) funding policy, rules and regulations.

EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES (ILLUSTRATIVE ONLY):

Provides direct financial assistance intake service to Anoka County Residents seeking help for chemical dependency treatment services. Authorizes and coordinates funding for state licensed chemical dependency treatment. Enters funding information in MMIS system. Provides SSIS related case management throughout the Intake process. Serves as County Liaison for participants, facilities, assessors and county workers throughout the intake process.

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or related field preferred; post-secondary education in Behavioral Sciences; one to three years’ experience working with Public Sector Social Services or Corrections; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge of: Substance Abuse Disorder and co-occurring conditions, interviewing skills, de-escalation techniques, cultural diversity, state rules and regulations regarding HIPPA and Privacy data, formal and informal community resources, MAXIS/MMIS or SSIS systems.

Ability to: Work Independently, follow direction, diffuse and redirect those who may need assistance, consistently adhere to federal, state and county rules, regulations and policies, balance and prioritize a high volume of work.

Skill in: Interpersonal skills, interviewing techniques, working in a fast paced environment, prioritizing and organizing work, working with people who may be experiencing a crisis, strong communication skills, detail oriented, ability to stay focused while constantly changing tasks, Microsoft Office Suite and documentation in SSIS.

Experience with: Government Human Services, Chemical Dependency or Financial Assistance programs.
Must successfully pass a driver’s license and criminal background check.

Salary Grade: 10

Hiring Range: $19.10 – $19.67 per hour
