CAD Drafter

Seeking a technical CAD Drafter to support Emergency Operations vehicle installation, configuration, and maintenance. The person will be part of a team supporting severe weather/emergency operational planning, preparation, and response. Person will edit and maintain CAD drawings, vehicle configurations, and installation instructions for mounting GPS, Brine, and other equipment/accessories.

Responsibilities:

• Transform concepts into detailed an accurate drawing
• Create shop drawings using CAD software
• Drafting multiple vehicles, vehicle types/configurations
• Drafting equipment/accessory installation
• Create 2-D and 3-D models of components and machines to ensure proper fit and function
• Complete detail part drawings
• Publishing and printing drawings
• Read and understand motor vehicle/construction equipment schematics and technical materials
• Editing and maintaining CAD layers
• Meet established deadlines for assigned projects
• Working hand-in-hand with equipment operators, supervisors, and managers
• Providing technical support as needed to equipment manufacturers or emergency responders
• Coordinating with IT and Engineering Support Teams
• Execute projects quickly and comprehensively, providing clear and accurate results
• Excellent drawing skills and QA/QC skills
• Detail oriented

Preferred Skills/Experience:

• Mechanic or mechanical aptitude
• Experience with Microsoft Visio
• Experience with Bentley Microstation
• Experience with Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator
• Work experience in government, transportation, and/or emergency operations

Required / Desired Skills

Auto CAD (Required 3 Years)

Microsoft Office Professional (Required 3 Years)

Associates degree in Engineering, Computer-aided drafting, or equivalent (Required 2 Years)

Be able to work with and develop drawings to meet business needs (Required 3 Years)

Create 2-D and 3-D models of components and machines to ensure proper fit and function (Required 2 Years)

Communication skills both verbal and written (Required 3 Years)

Editing and maintaining CAD layers (Required 2 Years)

Work experience in government, transportation, and/or emergency operations (Highly Desired 1 Years)
