CAD Designer

Job Description

1) Summary of Job Purpose:

– Responsible for mechanical and electronic CAD drawings & design utilizing Solidworks (2D; 3D; BOM; assembly,sub-assembly).

2) Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

– Produce and maintain component, assembly, test fixtures and interface/installation drawings & 3D models for company products, integrating requirements from hardware engineers, mechanical engineers, or document coordinator.

– Produce and maintain bill of material (BOM) and drawing list for company products.

– Produce, maintain and archive all Computer-Aided Design (CAD) models for products.

– Provide engineering design support to Manufacturing/Repair and Customer Support.

– Responsible for the quality / cost /schedule of the drawings & BOM work package.

– Failure to meet quality standards could end up in expensive and/or timely redesign.

– Major/minor change analysis for sustaining FAA certified products.

– Responsible for supplemental type certificate (STC) drawing changes.

3) Required Competencies:

Basic Qualifications (all candidates must meet these requirements):

– Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a regionally accredited institution or Associates Degree in Computer Aided Drafting & Design with minimum of 5 years’ experience.

– Experience using Solidworks, 2D and 3D design a must.

– Excellent team working skills, prompt to initiative, autonomous.

– Medium Level – Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

– Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

Job Type: Contract

Salary: $23.00 to $30.00 /hour
