C# / Oracle Scripting Developer

PURPOSE

This position will work as part of an international team of developers to deliver custom reports for our internal clients. They will also participate in a continuous effort to improve business reporting processes and procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Serve as lead programmer for business report design, development, testing and implementation.
• Plan and coordinate business report design, development, testing and implementation for regional or transnational use.
• Provide technical expertise to the business reports development team.
• Ensure that business report design, development, testing and implementation are documented in accordance with SOPs and reported in a timely fashion to support operations.
• Mentor other team members in developing technical and/or database expertise.
• Independently bring solutions to the business reports team.
• May assist IT in evaluating and/or developing and implementing new technologies
• May assist in developing, revising, and maintaining core operating procedures and working instructions with department management.
• Develop and maintain good communications and working relationships with teams and external clients.
• Interact with other teams to negotiate timelines, responsibilities, and deliverables.

• Follow formal development procedures which include: programming request ticketing system, detailed requirements provided by the clients, interaction with the clients to refine and finalize requirements, coding, peer review, unit testing, final testing, client approval and deployment.

Qualifications

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Advanced Knowledge of C# programming using in-line SQL or stored procedures; Knowledge of other programming languages such as is desirable.
  
• Advanced Knowledge of Oracle SQL scripting and script optimization.
• Strong customer-focus perspective with skill to guide customer communications and customer management.
• Self-driven with a keen attention to detail to anticipate, address and/or escalate issues, and with an aptitude to embrace and be conduit for change.
• Project and task management capabilities to meet/exceed deliverables.
• Effective problem solving skills as well as ability to proactively identifying process improvements which reduce operational costs, maintain quality and enhance service levels.
• Quality conscious with high degree of ethics and integrity carrying out duties in accordance to laws, regulatory standards, and with company policies and procedures.
• Proven leadership skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
• Proficient with developer tool such as Oracle SQL Developer, Microsoft Visual Studio and Toad for Oracle.
• Proficient with word processing, spreadsheet and presentation applications.
• Experience collecting data requirements and programming specifications.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree or educational equivalence in computer science, life sciences or related field with
• 3 years of relevant work experience or
• Equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Knowledge of other programming languages such as C, SSL, VGL, MS SQL scripting and SAS is desirable.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Extensive use of telephone, computer aided, and face-to-face communication requiring accurate perception of speech and clear articulation and idea formation.
• Extensive use of keyboard requiring repetitive motion of fingers
• Regular sitting for extended periods of time.
