POSITION OVERVIEW:

Working in a global environment, this position is responsible for implementing business driven applications through research, analysis, design, implementation and testing. The position is also serves as a primary contact to our business partners in the Finance/Accounting process area, working with them to define and scope objectives for system solutions to business requirements focused Finance, Costing and Controlling. The candidate must support all phases of a project life cycle including design, development, testing, training and documentation. Experience on integrating with other modules such as SD is highly recommended. Working with various tools, this position is also responsible for resolving service disruption issues to key services as well as initiating, and executing changes to the environment .

RESPONSIBILITIES:

As part of the McCormick IT Effectiveness Team, the Business System Analyst is responsible for:

  • Provide business analysis and process design/redesign expertise in one or more functional areas within the enterprise specifically in the analysis of SAP FI-CO
  • Configure/Customize processes/functionality within R/3 Finance & Controlling module inclusive of Asset Management, Material Ledger and Activity Based Costing.
  • Formulate and define application scope and objectives and devise/modify procedures to solve business problems
  • Acting as a liaison between IT and our business partners, the incumbent will be responsible for:
    • Managing functional projects thru the project lifecycle as lead from start to finish
    • Providing accurate project estimates
    • System configuration, unit testing, integration testing, user acceptance, and deployment
    • Producing review of functional specifications
    • Providing post-implementation process and application support;
    • Managing process areas, from design thru post implementation
  • Provides ongoing responsibility for system failure prevention, system problem calls and user inquiries. This includes regular system maintenance and support
  • Leads constant improvement opportunities and appropriately challenges processes to ensure global consistency.
  • Develop business relationships and integrate activities with other IT areas to ensure successful implementation and support on new services and enhancements.
  • Ensure business application systems are developed in a way that complies with standards and established methodologies and best practices.
  • Foster and maintain good relationships with customers and IT colleagues to meet expected customer service levels.
  • Monitor and report to management on the status of project efforts, anticipating/identifying issues that inhibit the attainment of project goals and implementing corrective actions.
  • Troubleshoot complex business and technical problems
  • Maintaining consistency of the Finance & Controlling area across all business units globally
  • Develop and retain relevant SAP skills – including participating in user groups, training, conferences and professional associations
  • Develop, and adherence to standards and procedures
  • Cross train other associates where and when appropriate to ensure proper support coverage

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Management Information Systems OR equivalent work experience
  • 6+ years of SAP FI-CO experience with an emphasis on design, configuration and troubleshooting
  • Experience with at least 3 full life cycle SAP FI-CO implementations
  • Configuration and testing of FI-CO, inclusive of CO-PA and Asset Management
  • SAP configuration skills in FI-CO Module (GL, AP, AR)
  • SAP functional skills in FI-CO Module (GL, AP, AR)
  • Solid understanding of SAP data model in FI-CO (GL, AP, AR)
  • Comprehensive understanding of SAP’s customizing toolset, including IMG (Implementation Management Guide).
  • Thorough knowledge and experience with General Ledger, Material Ledger, CO-PA Controlling and Profitability Analysis
  • Able to work independently as well as a team player
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work well on cross functional project teams and foster team commitment to tasks
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to express complex business concepts in technical terms.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and conceptual skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to read and follow ABAP code is considered a desirable skill.
  • Experience in Billing, Pricing and Distribution areas is considered an asset
  • EDI and interface knowledge – (iDOCS)
