Role Description

The Business Planning & Operations Coordinator will be responsible for providing business transaction, contracting, and project management support to the Pfizer Innovation Research Lab team within the Early Clinical Development group. This will include:

  • Project management and support for leadership team initiatives.
  • Business management, including but not limited to budget, purchase orders, procurement, collaborations.
  • Facilities and logistical support to enable scientists to focus on science.
  • Ensuring the group’s compliance with all corporate policies.
  • Human biology studies coordination.

Organizational Relationships:

  • Reports to the Senior Director, Head of Strategy, Operations and Project Management
  • Liaises with Finance, Global Operations, Dev Ops, Business Development and Procurement

Responsibilities

  • Extensive experience in contracting, FCPA, due diligence, Sunshine Act and general compliance.
  • Extensive experience in creating purchase orders, processing invoices, tracking commitments, managing budgets.
  • Ensures up-to-date coordination and tracking of headcount across the PfIRe Lab for both permanent and temporary employees.
  • Office management, demonstrating expert knowledge and proficiency with general administrative functions (telephone, email etiquette, MS Office, Business Objects, SharePoint, PTE, Ariba, cross-site access, GDAS, Travel Connect, supply ordering).
  • Coordinate operational efforts pertaining to human biology studies.
  • Create and maintain PfIRe Lab’s file sharing platform to ensure clear communication amongst the group.
  • Serves as a resource to all colleagues within the group.

Qualifications

  • Qualified candidates will have a minimum of a BS/MS; 5 years relevant experience, preferred.
  • Experience or a qualification in project management is preferred.
  • A healthcare background is required.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and influencing skills at a global, cross-line level.
  • Strong understanding of the drug discovery environment and scientific disciplines and how they fit into NSRU strategy.
  • Experience within the pharmaceutical research and development industry.
  • Strategic planning and business analysis skills.
  • Hands on experience of project management (use of planning tools, financial planning etc.)
  • Demonstrated success supporting large and complex projects.
  • Successful experience leading and developing an effective team working with resources not under direct control.
  • Exposure to and understanding of commercial considerations in relation to drug development.
  • Demonstrated ability to transform collections of ideas into finished products and to manage a wide variety of activities while accounting for changing priorities.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

Strong computer and mathematical skills.

Advanced Business Objects, planning tools and Excel skills.
