Business Intelligence Developer/Report Analyst I

Turn data into information, information into insight and insight into business decisions. Responsibilities include conducting full lifecycle analysis to include requirements, activities, design, and evaluation. The BI Developer/Report Analyst will develop analysis and reporting capabilities. They will also monitor performance and quality control plans to identify improvements working with both IT and business partners.

Examples of Duties

Compile data using computer-based applications; gathering, compiling, modeling, validating, analyzing, and converting data into meaningful, actionable information by required various business units

Queries, report writing and presenting findings

Experience working with large data sets

Identify and recommend new ways to streamline processes

Facilitate and/or actively participate in requirements gathering sessions with stakeholders, analysts, & users to gather functional requirements to generate technical requirements, traceability matrices, test cases, and test plans

Assist in deployment of master data management (MDM) proof-of-concept (POC) and production systems.

Essential Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics, or equivalent work experience

1+ year of proven experience as a BI Developer/Report Analyst working with various data sources, including SQL, Oracle, SAS or other databases, as well as data warehouses, data marts, and other analytical systems

In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office and PC applications in a windows-based environment required

Process/project management experience or training/certifications preferred

Experience with CJIS or other restricted data preferred

Professional written and oral communications required

Possesses strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Demonstrated experience in handling large data sets and relational databases

Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy using data modeling techniques and various reporting packages

Demonstrate critical thinking and intellectual curiosity

Acceptable Training and Experience

Process/project management experience or training/certifications preferred

Experience with CJIS or other restricted data preferred
