Business Intelligence Analyst

We are looking for a business intelligence analyst to support Supplier Management (SM) for Boeing Shared Services (SSG). Business Intelligence analysts work collaboratively to develop and implement data analytics and information management strategies to ensure our team effectively manages the supply base and related contracts for any of the non-production categories supported by SSG. In addition the successful candidate will act as the primary SSG SM focal in a major effort to architect and implement future system requirements supporting analytics and information management. Responsibilities include:

Lead design of complex business intelligence models, dashboards, metrics and reports to meet business objectives

Assess standard and current technology for best fit

Combine programming, SQL, data visualization, best practices and business expertise to deliver efficient, scalable BI solutions

Communicate strategy, performance, risk and opportunities to stakeholders

Communicate key presentations to senior leadership (directors and vice presidents)

Enable the community to function as one organization across BUs

Facilitate agreement with business partners and other stakeholders Technical skills:

Demonstrated expertise in SQL and Excel

Experience using data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau)

Exposure to predictive analytics methods (e.g. R) The successful applicant will have strong technical as well as leadership skills. Additionally, the candidate will demonstrate the ability to build working together relationships and have demonstrated ability to work in matrix organizations with people at all levels. The position is an individual contributor (non-management) role reporting to the SSG SM Strategy & Systems Management. The candidate will need to work collaboratively with Procurements Agents and business partners. This is position is located in Seattle, WA. Some domestic and international travel may be required. This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

The ideal candidate will possess a Technical bachelor’s degree and typically 9 or more years’ related work experience or a Master’s degree with typically 7 or more years’ or a PhD degree with typically 4 or more years’ related work experience. A technical degree is defined as any four year degree, or greater, in a mathematic, scientific or information technology field of study.

Requirements:

  • Experience performing quantitative or statistical analysis.
  • Experience working with databases and interpreting data.
  • Experience with business problem identification, data collection and preparation, modeling, and problem solving.
  • Experience developing business case analysis.
  • Experience interfacing with databases using SQL or PL/SQL.
  • Experience with Tableau or similar interactive business data visualization software.

Preferred experience:

  • Working in supplier management or supply chain management.
  • Experience collaborating and integrating with various functional

groups such as manufacturing, engineering and supplier management.
