JD Edwards (JDE) Business Analyst/Project Manager

Reports to the Director of Business Applications

Summary

  • This position provides hands-on application expertise for JDE in support of ERP projects.
  • Primary focus on the Sales, Advanced Pricing and Inventory modules and secondary responsibility for other JDE modules.

Activities Includes

  • Business process improvement projects, system implementations, upgrades, ongoing end-user support and support for any 3rd party packages.
  • Work at the direction of the Business Systems Manager to improve processes through the optimal use of JDE.

Essential Functions & Duties

  • Function as a subject matter expert in Manufacturing/Shop Floor, Requirements Planning and Purchasing process contributing thought to leadership to initiatives proposing “best practices” where applicable.
  • Work with business process owners to improve business processes.
  • Configure and test the software based on user requirements and best practices.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to address business or system issues; coordinate integration and testing of changes.
  • Identify and diagnose problems affecting system integrity and data accuracy. Conduct routine testing and analysis.
  • Provide support for JDE controls and segregation of duties.
  • Lead any system implementation or upgrades for the Sales, Advanced Pricing & Inventory processes.
  • Provide clear and concise documentation for any new procedures or processes implemented.
  • Provide support and understanding of any EDI transaction types utilized by the Sales Order processes.
  • Provide support for users reporting requirements using one of the reporting tools available – JDE, Insight (Hubble), or Showcase Query.
  • Stay current with application issues, software defects or shortcomings through Oracle Knowledge Base site and other published materials.

Supporting Systems/modules/processing

  • JD Edwards Sales Order Processing, Advanced Pricing, EDI orders, Inventory Management, Customer Address Book Management.
  • Route handheld transactions – including both sales & inventory.
  • Data Feeds (sales/customers/items) to Demantra (forecasting tool).
  • Insight reporting – specifically designing/trouble-shooting sales order, pricing & customer queries.
  • Understanding of Halo (BI) Sales reporting tool.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in business or related area preferred.
  • Certification in Business Analysis or Project Management a plus.
  • Previous experience with JD Edwards software (E1 and/or World) preferred.
  • 3+ years practical business experience as a Buyer, Planner, Cost Accountant, Inventory Specialist, etc. preferred.
  • 3+ year’s experience in business requirements analysis process preferred.
  • Demonstrated project management skills; certification a plus.
  • Intermediate level of knowledge with MS Office and Outlook.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Generally, an office/desk position using a computer and telephone.
  • Repetitive use of hands and fingers.
  • Ability to view a computer screen for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to work on multiple projects at one time, handle deadlines, confidential information and interruptions in the work process.
  • Must be able to work well various levels of employees and diverse culture.
  • Occasional evening and weekend work to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to travel 5-10%.
