Our AFC team is responsible for protecting Deutsche Bank from financial and reputational losses incurred by financial crimes by assessing, controlling and mitigating risks. Risk types related to Anti-Financial Crime are consolidated in a comprehensive and effective risk management framework that covers Anti-Money-Laundering, Sanctions & Embargoes, Anti-Bribery & Corruption as well as Anti-Fraud & Investigations.

Project Mercury will enable DB to understand and manage its AML and sanctions risk across the global organization (all businesses, all geographies) to minimize its likelihood of being used by criminals to facilitate financial crime or to launder the proceeds of criminal acts. DB will achieve this though:

• having a defined financial crime risk appetite statement which includes a clearly articulated statement of which clients, countries and products DB is prepared to engage with in respect of AML and sanctions risk;

• having a holistic and embedded financial crime framework where the first, second and third lines work together to manage and mitigate AML and sanctions risk. This will have clearly articulated roles, responsibilities and accountabilities with appropriate committee structures enabled through the provision of risk-appropriate management information and clearly defined processes, controls and handoffs;

• having a globally consistent approach to managing AML and sanctions risk using a defined AML and sanctions policy and client risk assessment methodology which, when applied, meets the AML and sanctions risk appetite of DB and enables DB to meet its global and local regulatory requirements;

• having an appropriate culture embedded in DB and provide specific technical AML and sanctions training to enable employees to fully understand the AML and sanctions risks that they are responsible for managing; and remediating the KYC files for current client base to the defined standard.

Key elements of managing AML and sanctions risk within the scope of Project Mercury are:

  • AML and Sanctions policies, procedures, governance and oversight
  • KYC , including periodic reviews and event driven reviews
  • Sanctions
  • Monitoring and screening
  • Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC) / Foreign and Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA)

The role will demand regular interaction with Senior Project Managers across Regulation, Compliance & AFC as well as a varied exposure to a large number of Regulations, Compliance & AFC staff throughout Deutsche Bank. The candidate should therefore be comfortable working with colleagues at all management levels and possess the necessary interpersonal and leadership qualities to operate effectively in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with IT / SMEs to develop detailed business requirements documents that capture detailed change requirements
  • Manage BRDs through the review and sign off process and ensure they complete, accurate and meet user requirements
  • Support the project managers with the delivery of the project by taking ownership of specific project deliverables, provide regular management information and work closely with the other project BA’s.
  • Production of management information as required by the Program, Director, Project Manager, Project Sponsor and Project Governance.
  • Develop other project related scope documents, project / testing plans, traceabilty matrices, test cases, budgets and timeframes
  • Support and perform data analysis, cleansing and migration
  • Work closely with IT and other colleagues to ensure consistency of documentation and approach
  • Identify key deliverables and milestones and update / develop corresponding scope documents and project plans
  • Escalate issues as required to the Program Director, Project Manager and PMO

You will have: (Skills/Experience)

  • A minimum of 5 years experience in Financial Services (industry or FSI consultancy) with understanding of core banking products, front-to-back processes and market/regulatory trends – notably in the domains of Money Laundering, Risk Assessments and/or CTF/Sanctions.
  • Prior experience in the delivery of FSI change initiatives ideally in building new systems
  • Maturity of approach and high levels of integrity
  • Organised and structured work style, working calmly under pressure
  • Strong analytical, workflow and data interpretation skills
  • Understanding of Compliance, Anti Financial Crime or Risk Assessments within Banking
  • Very good communication, documentation and presentation skills (written and verbal)
  • A minimum of 3 years experience as a Business Analyst with a good understanding of all aspects of SDLC
  • Experienced with documentation in all phases of business analysis (requirements, testing/validation, traceability, etc)
  • Able to prioritize and deliver according to strict timelines and quality standards.
  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office Suite (Project, Excel, Word, Visio and PowerPoint).
  • A committed individual with a strong desire to be successful in his / her role and to keep himself / herself updated to the latest PM standards / techniques.
  • Native or fluent command of English.
  • Bachelors degree required in one of the following majors: business, engineering or computer science

Desired (Skills/Competencies):

  • Graduate degree
  • Experienced implementing / optimizing Compliance applications for transaction monitoring, client & payments screening and case management
  • Incident tracking tools (JIRA, QC, Clear Case, etc.) SQL
