Business Analyst

The Kemper Services Group is adding to its team and will be hiring a Business Analyst 5 to work at our Jacksonville, FL; Chicago, IL; Dallas, TX; Charlotte, NC; or Plymouth Meeting, PA office.

The Business Analyst 5 assesses the needs of our business partners through direct interaction, and looks for opportunities to support our business strategy through effective use of workflow and technology. They provide an enterprise perspective to determine how solutions impact existing processes, systems, employees and customers.

This role requires strong leadership, prioritization, negotiation, and collaboration skills. You will be advocating for “ease of doing business” and external user needs, defining the agency and customer user experience, while balancing our internal business priorities across multiple stakeholder groups.

Similar to a Business Product Owner, you will be responsible for interviewing users and user proxies, identifying change needs, assessing the impact of the change, capturing and documenting scope and requirements, and then ensuring that those requirements are delivered, while supporting the business through the implementation process.

You will be involved throughout the development lifecycle (e.g., initial concept through to final implementation and post production support) and are a key change facilitator within the organization.

Position Qualifications:

• 7 to 10 years of business analyst experience

• Education equivalent to a college degree in an information technology related or business administration related discipline, supplemented by insurance or computer-related courses/knowledge, or the equivalent in related work experience.

• Must be proficient with and have mastery of business analysis (workflows, use cases, business requirements, documentation, high level test cases, data analysis)

• Testing experience required (test cases, expected results, user acceptance testing, and test execution).

• Strong change management, production monitoring and support skills (troubleshooting, data analysis, defect triage).

• Technical Skills – Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint, Visio)

• UX (user experience) and UI (user Interface) design experience a plus

• P&C Insurance industry knowledge and experience a plus

• Comparative Rater experience a plus
