This role within the Corporate Systems group in the Information Technology organization at AIG supports our Investment Management line of business and includes applications that support Investments, Science, and Institutional Markets. With $340 billion under management, these applications provide investment advisory and asset management services for AIG and its businesses around the world.

As an integral member of the Corporate Systems group in the Information Technology organization at AIG, the Business Analyst is responsible for requirements management – the execution, discovery and documenting of business requirements for technical solutions to solve business problems. The role’s main focus is on defining, analyzing, and documenting requirements and ends with managing requirement solution delivery. He/she will work with cross-functional teams to determine technical approaches to address business challenges.

The Business Analyst works with the stakeholders and technical staff to document business requirements and test cases in support of application development initiatives. He/she tracks and creates test cases, runs automated test scripts, and tracks and reports test scenario statistics. Ensures via test cases that business objectives are met by the programs produced from the created business requirements.

Responsibilities

• Consults with colleagues to identify, define, and document business functions and processes; business needs and objectives; as well as current operational procedures, problems, input and output requirements, and levels of systems access. Identifies opportunities for improvement.

• Performs business process analysis; documents current and future state processes.

• Provide ad-hoc analytical and management reporting support to the leadership, as requested.

• Writes clear, detailed universally understood procedures for permanent records and for use in training.

• Tracks and documents changes to functional and business specifications.

• Creates and maintains PPT and Visio workflows and associated presentation materials.

• Collects and develops requirements for new systems and enhancements to existing systems; ensures the system design fits the needs of the users.

• Researches and prepares statistical reports using data from processes and surveys, and consolidates information into cohesive and understandable correspondence for use in management decision-making.

• Participate in user acceptance testing and testing of new system functionality.

• Gathers, synthesizes and produces management information and reporting as requested for a wide range of stakeholders in a timely, accurate and consistent manner.

Position Requirements:

• Minimum 2-5 years of experience, preferably with financial services, insurance or process / transaction led business.

• Advanced MS Excel and reporting skills (e.g. pivots, graphs, business objects)

• Advanced PowerPoint skills

• Excellent written and presentation skills, able to collaborate with people at all levels of the organization.

• Knowledge of SharePoint

• An Independent worker and analytical thinker with ability to conduct data analysis and resolve problems.

• Ability to build relationships with a range of stakeholders, providing support, assistance and advice in a constructive and professional manner.

• Strong interest in working in an international environment, with appreciation of, and respect for, diversity in the workplace.

• Strong interest in organizational performance, management information, process improvement and change management.

• Strong consulting and analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of detail

• Ability to apply critical and creative thinking, and apply this mindset to solution requirements

• Excellent communication, problem solving, and teamwork skills

Desired Education

• Bachelors of Science or Business Administration within Financial Management and or Economics.
