BMV Full-time Customer Service Representative 2 – Ft. Wayne Pine Valley

The Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles is seeking qualified candidates to fill a full-time Customer Service Representative 2 position for the Ft Wayne Pine Valley license branch. The Customer Service Representative 2 administers skills test, evaluates driving skills and provides a wide variety of customer service duties with respect to driver services, vehicle/watercraft titles and registrations. Additionally this position assists license branch personnel with administrative duties to support customer needs and the overall accountability and success of the license branch system and the BMV.

Hire Salary :

Starting salary is $12.00 per hour, with the potential to increase to $13.00 per hour after one year of employment.

Responsibilities :

• Administer skills tests and evaluate driving skills;
• Assist customers with vehicle/watercraft titles and registration needs in a courteous, timely, and accurate manner;
• Maintain compliance with all laws of the State of Indiana relative to the operations, licensure, and registration of personal motor vehicles;
• Relate tactfully but decisively to all types of people and situations;
• Attend training classes and/or take certification tests as required;
• Maintain privacy of customer and all related records;
• Provide assistance to lower level CSRs as needed;
• Other duties as required.

Preferred Experience :

• Must be 21 years of age or older;
• Must possess a valid, unexpired State of Indiana driver’s license;
• High School Diploma or equivalent;
• 1 year as a BMV/C Customer Service Representative preferred;
• Ability to relate tactfully but decisively to all types of people and situations which may require a calm disposition, alertness, quick reflexes and patience;
• Must be familiar with the operation of all types of motor vehicles;
• Working knowledge of Indiana driving laws;
• Must exhibit professionalism;
• Effectively communicate, both orally and in writing;
• Ability to identify problems and recommend and implement solutions;
• Ability to apply fundamental cash management and accounting principles;
• Proficient computer skills

Additional Comments :

Must be available to work License Branch Hours of Operation:

• Tuesday, 8:30 am to 6:30 pm
• Wednesday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm
• Saturday, 8:30 am to 12:30 pm
